Q: What is the Ruby Fire portable power adapter?
A: It’s a low-voltage DC adapter designed to power 12-volt portable pottery wheels using widely available power tool batteries. The adapter is designed, assembled, and tested in California by Ruby Fire Clay Arts
Q: Do you sell or ship batteries?
A: No. Ruby Fire manufactures the adapter only.
We do not make, sell, or ship, or batteries.
Q: Which batteries are compatable?
We suppport DeWalt, Makita, Milwaulkee and Ryobi 18 to 20 volt batteries for power tools. They are readily available, durable, and equipped with advanced built-in Battery Management System (BMS).

A: Power tool manufactures make batteries offering excellent worldwide availability, strong performance, and robust safety features, including: over-charge, over-discharge, short-circuit, and thermal protection, temperature management, UL listing for safety, and proven durability.
Q: Where is the product made?
A: Ruby Fire assembles/tests each unit in California from globaly sourced parts.
BATTERY PERFORMANCE AND RUN-TIME
Q: How long will the adapter power my pottery wheel?
A: Battery run time depends on battery size. Power tool batteries come in 2Ah to 12Ah (2 Amp-hour to 12 Amp-hour) sizes. Larger batteries (6Ah, 9Ah, 12Ah) can power the wheel for most or all of a full day, ideal for classrooms and studios, and when you run out of power, pop in another battery and keep throwing! Even the smaller batteries provide hours of uninterrupted throwing.
